Where We Are Held from the Forest Floor Series
Where Stillness Finds Its Voice
I didn’t begin as a photographer seeking grand landscapes or perfect conditions. My work grew out of quiet moments—pauses in the day when the smallest details carried the greatest weight. Over time, I learned that stillness speaks, and if you listen closely enough, it will show you what the world is trying to reveal.
Much of my life has been shaped by intensity: military service, the pressure of high-level intelligence roles, long stretches of uncertainty, and the weight of responsibility. Photography became the place where the noise finally fell away. The Forest Floor, the quiet surf at dawn, the soft shift of fog through the trees—these scenes became a language I could understand. They offered clarity, calm, and a grounding I hadn’t realized I needed.
This is the foundation of Dennis Maida Editions: fine art born from stillness, crafted with intention, and printed to endure.
My work has been featured by Nikon USA, Disney/Marvel, New Jersey Monthly Magazine, Midwest Living, and displayed at Newark Liberty International Airport’s Terminal A. I have photographed across rural America, mountain ranges, coastlines, and the quiet places most people pass by. But no matter where I go, the guiding principle remains the same:
Look deeper. Slow down.
Find meaning in what tries to go unnoticed.
Every limited edition print is produced on museum-grade archival paper, signed and numbered to preserve its authenticity and long-term value. These are not mass-produced images—they are intentional pieces created to hold space in a room, to invite contemplation, and to offer the quiet that so often escapes us.
If my work resonates with you, I hope you find something here that feels like an exhale—
a moment of recognition, a pause, a reflection, a place where stillness finally finds its voice.
My work is currently on display at the Compton Gallery in Boonton, New Jersey.
